Training in Injury Management
1-Day Course
This Injury Management training program has been developed to assist managers and supervisors of injured workers to effectively manage their occupational injury, which will ensure improved Return-To-Work outcomes for injured staff and lead to reductions in the workers compensation premium. On successful completion of this program, participants will:
- possess the knowledge and skills required to successfully implement their organisation's Return-To-Work program;
- understand injured workers' entitlements to income support and benefits;
- understand the socio-economic impact of occupational injury and work loss;
- understand how a pro-active and supportive manager assists in improving the outcomes of injured workers;
- understand how to prevent long-term work loss which will assist in reducing an organisation's workers compensation premium; and
- understand how embracing a values-based approach will make a difference to their injured worker's recovery and will enhance their managerial skills.
To ensure that participants can achieve these learning outcomes, we will:
- assess each participant's knowledge of the learning outcomes prior to completion of the course, in order to achieve 100% success;
- provide a work-based assessment activity task which must be successfully completed to receive Certificate of Attendance; and
- provide each participant's supervisor with a checklist to use as part of a performance review and which can be used as evidence for the employer's compliance with NSW OHS legislation.
